First Church of Christ, Scientist, Portsmouth

First Church of Christ, Scientist, Portsmouth, NH, is a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston Massachusetts. Mary Baker Eddy the discoverer of Christian Science, a New Hampshire native, founded the Mother church in 1879. Her purpose was "To organize a church designed to commemorate the word and works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing." (Church Manual, pg. 17).

Our church has been a part of the Portsmouth community since 1901. This site provides information about our Christian Science church, its services, its activities, how to contact us and other links of interest on the subject of Christian Science.
